My Post today is on The Crafters Companion Blog

Front
Hello Crafter's Companion friends.  This is Carmi blogging again during a week which was designated "bloggers choice."   I am so happy to be showing you my Fairyopolis 3D paper ornament today.  The Fairyopolis Paper Crafting kit will be launched (with me) on The Canadian Shopping Channel this August 1st!  I just know there will be a special price announcement on the 1st too!
Back

This fantastic and extensive Fairyopolis paper crafting set includes everything you need to showoff all your creative skills. My favorite item in the kit is a CD set to create over 11,000 printable elements including custom cards, envelopes, notepaper, card inserts, gift tags, banners, pillow boxes, decoupage, papers, borders, alphabet sets, teabags and more!

I chose this 3D fairy to print.  I cut out all my elements from the first side.  Then I had my idea.  If I "flip" my images and print a second copy I could build a 3D ornament in two directions.
Ordinarily I would have been happy to stop here.
But then I built the fairy in the opposite direction so that if it twirled on the stand you would see the fairy no matter which direction you were looking.
Then I sprayed a little iridescent spray and sparkle glitter varnish onto my fairy.
I love the extra glitter!
I had such a good time I made a second ornament!  All these elements are on the CDs.  I can print them over and over and I have so many fairies to choose from!

I see some great Christmas ornaments in the future!

Canvas Corp Great Idea

I have always loved boxes.  Wood, glass, enamel, metal and even fabric boxes are in my display shelves.  I have so many different boxes that are decorative or collectible.
However, I do not have a box made of canvas!  Four small canvases to be precise.
This was a great sample in the Canvas Corp booth at CHA.  Canvas Corp has a website and blog full of great ideas!

My Favorite Thing at CHA - Introducing Ruby Violet

This stunning necklace is just one of dozens of examples in the new Ruby Violet collection.  The kits to make up these necklaces are so beautiful and fun that I want them all.
The embellishments in the line are over the top goodness!
 How could you choose?

 I want everything!
The necklace kits always show you two different ways to make up the piece.  Of course, there are more than two ways but it sure is nice to have inspiration.
 How gorgeous are these?

Even more amazing.....the kits will cost under $10!!!!
This is me and the designer.

Claudine Hellmuth at CHA

Claudine had several new great products to launch this week at CHA.  Those of you who (like me) love her paints with Ranger will be excited to know the paints and mediums are now available in these cute small bottle collections!
Claudine and Jen Cushman participated in a Mixed Media installation at the show.  It was a designed challenge with a couture theme.
A few of you will see her Sticky-back canvas right away!  A wonderful bodice and matching necklace!  The skirt was made by Jen with resin painted papers!
Tonight they accepted an award for their dress!  They won the "Judges Pick!"
You'll see their dress in a copy of Cloth Paper Scissors sometime this fall.
Congratulations Claudine and Jen!

DCWV Christmas Trees at CHA

Design Cuts With a View (DCWV) have outdone themselves again with their booth at CHA.
Their booth is the first one I saw when I entered the show this year.
The paper Christmas trees are fantastic!
You can look at all the paper embellishments for hours.
I am really attracted to the purple tree.
They used some of my favorite paper.
 This is stunning in person.
This tree gave me lots of ideas.
A tree of paper flowers.  SIGH.

Kanzashi Flower Maker - Another Amazing Clover Tool!

Do you love the look of fabric flowers?
Take a peak at the new amazing tools Clover is releasing so that we can make the most beautiful flowers.
I attended a Clover workshop today at the Craft and Hobby show.

It was so wonderful to learn a new technique.  The tools make this so easy.
I sewed a lot of petals together and then opted to rearrange my brooch.
I wanted to centre the felt heart so I made my brooch longer instead of one perfect circle.
I really like my class sample.
These were samples on the table I coveted.
When I get home I hope to make a few more flowers like this!
