Crazy Cuff Fifteen - More Vintage Paris Brocade Ribbon

My latest project took a little longer than some of my other crazy cuffs.

I think because the beads I was working with were so vivid and a pleasure to see.

The color choices were influenced by the original brocade ribbon I started with.  Very little was visible by the time I was done beading.

This cuff features some spun art yarn.

I also added some plastic crystal banding along with traditional rhinestone trim.

The beading on the edge was several nights of TV time.

It has some weight to it!  I added just about every type of bead in my stash.

Crazy Cuff Fourteen - Vintage Paris Brocade Ribbon

Crazy cuff number 14 may be the softest on I have made.

I choose to line one piece of my vintage brocade ribbons from Paris 

to a very thick piece of orange felt.

The beading, as always was unplanned.

Everything was added over Victoria Day weekend.

I know you can't see much of the original ribbon now.

It really did influence the beading.

I also added some gorgeous art yarn.

Crazy Cuff Thirteen - With A Bit of Fur

 This embellished cuff is lucky number thirteen.  

I can't believe I have made 13 of these cuffs since June, just by spending a little time beading whenever I am watching TV.

 This cuff started when I pulled out this hot green and pink ribbon I purchased in Paris earlier this year.

 I ended up adding it to some pink brocade and this border of gold fur ribbon.

 These two sequined vintage bears were in a grab bag I picked up at an antique market.  I have been wanting to repair and sew them to something for a while.

 By the time I added all my beads and components, it is hard to see the original ribbons.

 The bears are secure and ready to be admired again.

I love the cuff from the front and the back!

Crazy Cuff Twelve - The Fleur-de-lis!

 I set of goal of making one dozen cuffs this summer.  I wanted to experiment with lots of fibers, fabrics and beads already in my stash.  It has been a wonderful challenge.

 Cuff twelve began with a French theme.  

The fleur-de-lis brooch has been waiting to be re-purposed.

The black ribbon is very old, very expensive and from Paris in April.  

The pink embroidery I found in an Irish shop in Niagara-on-the-lake.

 I originally saw these embroidery bracelets this spring in Paris.  These were from Italy and I regretted not picking them up until I found them here too.

 These are the two ribbons I brought in the antique market.  The second one will be in my next project.

 My lap studio was full of green and pink beads and embellishments.

 The finished cuff is just covered!

 I enjoyed this cuff project but will admit I have spend about 12 hours on this one.  By the end of the project my fleur-de-lis was barely visible.  

 Still learning as I go.  

My 12 cuffs are all collected into this one box now.

Crazy Cuff Eleven - The Pink Elephant

 This latest cuff experiment took me longer than the others.

 It was inspired by the elephant ribbon I already had in my stash.

 So many pink beads were added.

 There is not much room left!

I used ultra suede to back the bracelet...which was much more difficult to work with than felt.

I am not sure I will want to work with it again.

Crazy Cuff Ten - Homage to Oscar Wilde

 My summer project to learn to enjoy beading by working without patterns or sketches continues to be enjoyable.

 This cuff took many nights of night time TV time beading.

 I used A LOT of tiny beads.

Crazy Cuff Nine Featuring Hand Crafted Beads

 This latest cuff gave me the opportunity to permanently 

showcase a set of handmade floral beads.

 My background is vintage Parisian ribbon.

 I feel like my flowers are now in a wonderful field!

 Random beading was a pleasure.

Lined in thick red felt.

Crazy Cuff Eight-Hot Pink Hearts

 This cuff is a surprise, even to me.

 My lap table began with a few key items.

Vintage (and very expensive) ribbons and new buttons from Paris and an assortment of beads and threads.

 I think it beaded itself.  I have no idea how I got here.

The random and truly relaxing beading just gets better and better.

 Thrilled with the final cuff.

The buttons now have a permanent home!
