Ahh. The things you learn about a person who blogs.
This is me....a very long time ago. I had the best part time job on the planet.
For years I tried to figure out how to become an Elf at Toronto's Eaton Centre. Finally, during my first year as a student at Ryerson I walked over to Eatons (now long gone) and waited until personnel would see me. I can't tell you how much fun I had!
The cutie in this picture is my cousin Christina. I was her babysitter. Can you imagine her surprise to discover I worked for Santa too? I remember this moment like it was just yesterday. Christina is now a Mom and I bet she takes her kids for a Santa portrait.
Because I was an Elf I think I will always be an Elf at Christmas.
I may not get to wear the costume but I know there are many ways to make Christmas special for children. Good deeds. Good thoughts.
Have a good day.
Late thought.
I guess I could always apply to be Santa's Wife! Why didn't I think of that sooner? Next year!!!
You must have had a hoot!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I and my brother enjoyed many a Santa picture over the years at the Eatons in Montreal, my daughters were never that enthusiastic. My younger girl always wrestled with Santa in a sort of get-me-out-of-here sort of way!

Thanks for emailing Monica! I always love to see those photos of kids trying to get away....we have the funniest photo of my nephew giving Santa the "who do you think you are" look!
ReplyDeleteLol, I guess you could be Santa's wife but she never gets any attention. It's Santa and the elves everyone truly loves. Great picture. Thanks for sharing a truly wonderful memory with us :)
