The Most Expensive Item

Whenever I go to an antique market I have an idea of what my budget is.  It is one of the few times I carry cash.  A few weeks ago, I thought I would be leaving the market having only spent $12.  My last stop was in a stall that is always chock a block with jewels.  It was so hot I ventured into the covered section.  It's harder to see in there, but the shade was a blessing.  I spotted this tiny glass pendant.  The blue caught my eye and since it was in a locked box, I knew it would be pricey.
The vendor was so happy I noticed it.  It was one of her favorites.  To my surprise it was a double-sided pendant.  Even more surprising...everything was crafted with feathers.  Truly a lucky one a kind find.  Now cash less I was happy to head home with this tiny item in my wallet.

Etching

I have been spending a lot of time in the garage.
I have written a series of blog posts for John Bead this week that required me to use a chemical called Etchant.  This chemical scares me a little....but the results are so great I can't resist rubber stamping on metal and then etching!

My Post Today For The Crafter's Companion Blog

I have a new post for the Crafter's Companion blog today featuring a sweet new card.
She is very shy.
I stamped her using my Rock-a-blocks and black ink.
The image on the package inspired me to colour her in this palette.  Happily, I was able to use the new Crafter's Companion Spectrum Noir markers.  They are fabulous to work with!
I cut my coloured image into a smaller square and added some foam tape to the back to give it some height on the card.
I placed the bouquet behind her arms by using an x-acto knife to cut a little insert.
Isn't she sweet?

She is originally from the "Birthday Girl" set.
You can see how she can be used for all occasions!

Fairyopolis Launching Next Week!

 Good day friends.
This card features artwork from the Fairyopolis CD collection.
On Tuesday August 30th I'll be launching Fairyopolis on The Shopping Channel in Canada.
I printed my fairy on white card stock and then cut out all the layers.
I used one of the card bodies from the Fairyopolis card making kit. These large 6x6 cards give you the space you need to build an impressive card.
I added a few flowers and crystals.
And finally, to give it the shimmer you see on the first photo I sprayed a little Spray and Sparkle Multicolour over the card.

Vintage Greeting Cards

When I saw this oddly shaped box I was hoping the cards would still be inside.
Happily, they were.  I just love this style of illustration!
I can imagine that the person who originally bought these set them aside so that all the occasions in the up-coming year would be covered by a card in this box.  I hope to design a box like this some day.

Great Mail Day!

The ladies at the post office sure smiled when they saw this package for me!
The wrapping is so spectacular that I didn't want to open the box.  I could have just hung it right on my wall to enjoy...but curiosity got the better of me.
Inside there was a pizza box with a cryptic Napoleon type message.
 Then two gorgeous cards.
Finally...the GREAT GIFT!  A Napoleon HUGE plate/tray!  Thank you Ludgera for being the highlight of my week! This was the best surprise I have received in a long time!  Truly special.

The "Inspired by Margot Potter" Give-A-Way!-OVER

This is a new necklace featuring left over links and findings.
Margot Potter has a very inspired section in her new book where she shows you different ways to attach links.
I love the idea of gathering small sections or links that might end up in the trash and using them to create one new interesting necklace.
I have so many left overs, I could create dozens of interesting necklaces with this idea.
I don't think I will be able to leave an open space in a component now.
If you would like to be inspired and
if you would love to win Margot's new book from me,
leave a comment!  Thank you for the books Margot!
I'll draw for book winners (I have two to give away) on Sunday!  Anyone can win!
