Introducing: STITCHED 2015 instructors

I could not be happier than to be a part of this amazing event this year!



STITCHED 2015 consists of:

-seven online classes by an eclectic group of artists.
Hanna Andersson, Lynn Krawczyk, Celeste Beck, 
Lesley Riley, Lidija Miklavcic, Carrie Payne and Carmi Cimicata.

-In addition, I will post a new online class every month for the entire year.
Everything from doll making, silk ribbon embroidery and crochet, including two art quilt classes called Ladies of the Canyon and She's so Unusual.

- There will also be a 12 x 12 Block-of-the-Month every month.

- and 6 giveaway prizes that any registered STITCHED student can win.

STITCHED 2015 will last an entire year. 
It starts March 1st 2015 and ends March 1st, 2016. 
It is hosted in a private ning.com site.
It consists of over 25 online video instructions for only

Hanna Andersson

iHanna is a mixed media artist, writer and embroiderer who shares all of her creative adventures on her blog. Twice each year she hosts an international mail art swap with participants from all over the world. iHanna is a fan of notebooks, glittery embroidery floss and iced coffee. She paints, draws and doodles in her art journal, creates art collages and small art quilts that features acrylic paint as well as stitching. She has also published photo books and created a lot of wooly softies.
iHanna lives in Sweden and has turned her home into a creative studio.”

Carrie Payne

Carrie Payne is a mixed media fiber artist and quilter enjoying imperfect moments and embracing mistakes.  She combines fabric, thread, paper and found objects to create art quilts and other stitched fun.  Her current work is an adventure in happiness with art quilts that feature bicycles, kids playing and girls in dimensional dresses. Along with her studio work, Carrie has written articles, designed fabric and patterns and taught classes on art quilting.
Carrie lives in Anchorage, Alaska with her husband and two cats.

Lidija Miklavčič

Lidija is a self-employed fashion designer with an interest in all sorts of arts and crafts.  
She designs and sells her sewing patterns via her Etsy shop called Tutorial Girl
She is passionate about free motion sewing and recycling.
She enjoys repurposing old clothing into functional everyday items and creative works of art.
She lives with her family in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Lynn Krawczyk

Lynn is a textile designer and author living in Michigan. Her main focus in her artwork is using surface design to custom tailor the fabric being used in a project. She is the author of the best seller, “Intentional Printing,” and has a line of fabric with Red Rooster Fabrics called INKED. She teaches via DVD workshop through Interweave and her personal motto is that if something stands still long enough, it’s possible to try printing on it. In her spare time she argues with her rescue dog, Carter, over who gets the best corner of the sofa (guess who usually wins?).

Celeste Beck

R. Celeste Beck is a co-owner and resident fiber artist at Goatfeathers Studio, a mixed media and fiber art space dedicated to the creation and sharing of her love of textiles. In the last few years, Celeste has focused her artistic energies on learning new techniques.  This journey has led her to explore working with surface design in the form of rusted and dyed fabrics that have been stitched, stamped and stenciled, plus a variety of digital and fabric art manipulations that show her love for the world of whimsy.  Her pieces have hung in local galleries.  In 2014 one of her quilted creations was displayed at the Worlds Quilt Show in West Palm Beach, Florida. 
 She lives in north Florida with her two labs, a miniature schnauzer, three cats, twelve chickens and her husband and soul mate of 46 years.

Carmi Cimicata

Carmi Cimicata is an artist who specializes in resin crafts, DIY jewelry and wearable art pieces.  
She is a social media designer who writes daily blog posts demonstrating different craft and jewelry making techniques for several companies.  Her love of vintage linens has her looking through piles of fabrics in every antique market she goes to.  Finding the unloved and possibly soon to be discarded items and upcycling them into jewelry is a passion. It is possible to preserve and permanently showcase fibers in resin and she will show you the best way to do that in her workshop.

Lesley Riley
Lesley Riley wears many hats. She is an internationally known artist, art quilter, teacher, writer and Artist Success coach and mentor who turned her initial passion for photos, color and the written word into a dreamoccupassion.

Her art and articles have appeared in too many places to keep count. As former Contributing Editor of Cloth Paper Scissors magazine, Lesley developed a passion for showcasing new talent in mixed media art. Her first book, Quilted Memories, brought new ideas and techniques to quilting and preserving memories. A second, Fabric Memory Books, combined fabric and innovative ideas with the art of bookmaking. Two more books, Fabulous Fabric Art with Lutradur and Create with Transfer Artist Paper, introduced versatile new materials to the quilt and mixed media art world. A fifth book Creative Image Transfer debuted in 2014 Her 2013 self-published, best seller, Quotes Illustrated, was expanded and republished November 2014 by F&W Publications as Inspiring Quotes Illustrated. Lesley’s 8th book will be out at the end of 2015.

In an ongoing effort to find the best ways for quilters and mixed media artists to get permanent photos on fabric, Lesley introduced Transfer Artist Paper™, named the Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) 2011 Most Innovative new product. 

Lesley is the former host of BlogTalk Radio’s Art & Soul show, recording over 75 podcasts on art and the creative process through in-depth interviews with contemporary artists. Her passion and desire to help every artist reach their creative dreams and potential has led to a growing specialty as an Artist Success coach and mentor where she draws from her own experience, insight, and a knack for seeing the potential in everyone to provide guidance and solutions for artists of all levels.

Lesley creates her magic on an idyllic horse farm in Frederick, MD, where she lives in an empty nest with her high-school sweetheart husband. You’ll find her in her studio from sunup to sundown unless, of course, any of her seven granddaughters come to visit.
