I can't believe I managed to clean this picture up in photoshop. I took the picture by parking my camera lens directly onto the glass window. Worried about a shop keeper rushing out to shoo me away...I took it fast!I love everything about the empire waist style. Not that I could pull it off myself, but it reminds me so much of Josephine Bonaparte. She would have adored this dress.
Come to think about it. She may have inspired this one having single handedly brought the empire waist fashion craze to France during her years as wife to the First Consul and Empress.
