Would You Like This Necklace?

Is this necklace ugly? Ugly is a word I hardly ever use. I can always think of something to do to make it better. I have been calling this "the ugly necklace" since I brought it home in April.
I have bought some crazy things in my travels.
Usually, I justify the purchase with the "this is a sample" comment.
Well this necklace is definitely not one I would wear or make.
But.
The buttons were intriguing.
I wanted to remember to try using a layer of fabric and a layer of lace in my button maker.
So, instead of just making a note to myself in my journal...I bought the whole piece....in PARIS...at full price.
So now that I have it...and a few more pieces I will never wear...what can I do?

I think I will share the wealth!
If you like this necklace just leave a comment and on Monday I will pick a new home for it.
Well, you don't have to like it...you might see parts to cut up to use to make a totally different necklace! Fine with me! But, just in case there is someone out there who really likes it I decided not to cut it up myself. I have a few other items that need new homes too...so this will be a fun way to show off some of the odd purchases I have made.

I rather like this necklace with the use of lace. Great fall colours too.

It's not a terriblenecklace, I rather like the top portion actually (the main bow). And you're right about the buttons, they're very pretty, looking forward to seeing the ones you'll end up making.

I hesitate to leave a comment, 'cause, well......Carmi, I think I have to agree with you. In my opinion, it's.....not that attractive. So don't choose my name; if you do, pretend you didn't and move on to someone else. I just thought I'd give you my honest reaction......

I know the feeling...some of the stuff I've bought over the years (shudder)...

RE the necklace - it's those two bottom button&net danglies that are throwing off the whole balance of the piece. Remove those, and you have yourself a pretty nice necklace. You could use the other two bits for earrings, brooches or adorn one of your cards perhaps.

It's definitely different!

I have to say that I really like this piece. Worn over a turtleneck I think it would look great! How convenient that I have a turtleneck that would work perfectly! My fingers are crossed.

Too many ideas thrown into one pot, various elements ripe for picking, bits to toss into half a dozen recipes (at least!). At the moment, obviously disgraceful, much like walrus nose joined to chimp elbow, giraffe foot, gecko's cheek, and so forth...

Yes, it's the jumble drawer with an open pack of gum tossed in for three hot summers, just the sort of thing I love to pry apart: sifting, slicing, dicing, spinning overhead to crash into a wall or two (or maybe the ceiling fan!). All things wicked and ugly are welcome here, treated as one must an unruly gosling in moult with an open jar of peanut butter swimming in rum...

I like it .....but
I agree ,the 2 bottom buttons just aren't working .Cut those off and I'd like it.Pretty color and texture, and sure to be a conversation piece!
It could be a necklace and 2 barrettes or bows for your shoes ...or maybe really BIG matching earrings! :D m.e.

Maybe it just needs to be "re-organized."
