Today's post was inspired by a trip to Rebekah's blog earlier this week. Her work made the cover of Crafts 'n things magazine. Congratulations!
When I delved in for a closer look, I realized that she made some of these fabulous brocade ribbon bracelets from Dove of the East ribbon. I ran right out to get my copy of the magazine!
What a great idea and a wonderful way to showcase the ribbon.
The ribbon has fallen into my "too good to be used" category. So, I decided to break out the stash!
I pulled all my ribbons out onto my table and tried to decide what I wanted to do.I could have made a bracelet using Rebekah's instructions, but it is a major snow day here and I felt like making more ornaments.
All I did was decide which ribbons appealed to me and started to arrange them on felt.
I decided to make one "stuffed ornament" so I had a pocket to construct and then other ribbons to just sew in place.
Here is my little pillow featuring some of the ribbons. The gold flowers are from collection too...it is the Japan Journey.
These are two of my favorites ribbons sewn together to make this tree. The Ruby Road ribbon is already beaded and has the paisley ruby's already attached.
These ribbons are from the Japan Journey collection. It took me just under two hours to make up these ornaments. Playing with the ribbon and thinking about other projects was the best part. So, if you need ribbon...pop by my store! And, as a little treat, I will do free shipping for the next day or two if you just buy ribbon!

Hi Carmi!
I am so glad you were inspired by my ribbon creations! I am with you, these ribbons are so beautiful that I just want to save them. Your project is awesome!
Happy Holidays!
Rebekah
Being the proud owner of a stash of the gorgeous ribbon you sell, I know just what you mean about the too good to be used syndrome. Hmmm. Maybe using some of my ribbon would be a good New Year's project.
