If I Have To Wear A Name Tag

I have never liked wearing a name tag. Even when the lanyard is cute I feel like I have been marked somehow. Like a robot. I hate to wear the same thing as someone else. And I have tried many different ways to not wear one, even in situations when it is clear you need to be identifiable at all times. I tie it to my purse or dangle it from a pant loop. I just don't want it around my neck or glued to my breast pocket.
Quite frankly, it interferes with my one of a kind jewelry too. What's the point of being out if I don't wear something I've made? (I have to wear a name tag at the One of A Kind Show at all times.)

Tonight I have outsmarted the lanyard and made something wearable for me! I pulled out this thick maroon felt and this sheet of pre-printed acetate. I decided to sew them into a name tag pocket.

The sewing machine had no trouble tackling this job. Once the pocket was created, all I had to do was embellish!

A few hours of bad TV and my name tag was done. Beads, buttons, silk ribbon and rhinestones all hand-sewn into place.

I'll wear this attached to the bottom of my shirt or on an actual necklace. Very one of a kind! Everyone should have one for their next convention!

Now, that's what I call a name tag! What a great artistic solution to a mundane necessity.

People will remember your name tag if not your name!
Also, your quote: "A few hours of bad TV" is the best inspiration there is at times.

Bravo indeed! I hate wearing a name tag also, but I've been in security too long (actually I sleep with a cop) and know the importance of wearing a name tag. Good work though, it is unique.
