The Big Ass Book Of Crafts
One of the fun aspects of the Craft and Hobby show is the "known personalities and celebrities" you have the opportunity to meet. There are book signings and live demonstrations. Many of the "big names" launch new kits or supplies by appearing in manufacturer's booths.
Then there are the accidental meetings.
You might be standing in a booth having a nice chat when you start to clue in that the person you are speaking too seems familiar.
That was certainly the case for me when I met Mark Montano in the Dove of The East booth. He is one of the nicest people you can meet! You just want him to be your best friend immediately. I have not seen any of the TV shows he has been in, but I am certain that I will love his new book: The BIG-ASS Book of Crafts! Mark was like a magnet at the show. Women were just compelled to hug him and he was very funny. He ran 10-minute craft challenges and the crowd was always too big for me to see him at the front of the group. But I could hear him...and he made me laugh, so I am sure that the book will be fun. Amazon, here I come.
Then, there was Kim Nugent.
She was Bernie's travelling companion on the trip, so we ate several lunches and dinners together.
It took me half a day to realize that Kim was the Kim of the book I pre-ordered on Amazon. Plus, her work has already been published in several publications I own...so no wonder she felt like an old friend.
This book is GOING TO BE GREAT!!!
Kim is a true kindred spirit.
She has an art retreat happening this fall......wouldn't I like to be there......linked here.
I need a little time today to play with some of the pictures I took.
I can't wait to introduce you to Claudine's new paint line and her STICKY-BACK Canvas!
Sticky-back canvas.
Sticky-back canvas.
Ohhhh....just the name alone will make you order some!

Hi! I just found your blog from Suze's. I'm loving it! I saw your resin and recently bought some and some molds so you've inspired me to go ahead and actually try it! I also tried to connect to the link you have for the fall retreat but when I clicked on it, I got an error no file found message. Could you double check it because I really wanted to have a look. I've bookmarked your blog and will back frequently, I'm sure!
