Bauble Ring Tutorial
Since I had some drying time...I decided to attach a few rhinestones to the outside of the ring!
The I coated the inside of the ring several more times. These images won't be permanent. If your hand comes into contact with water etc..the image will just wear off...but then you can make another ring!
And the best part? I have them for sale for $2!!!
Extra experiment. This morning I decided to coat the inside of the ring with a little resin. Since resin dries hard and waterproof...I am sure the image will be more permanent!
Update: The resin dried clear and perfect overnight! The photo looks like it is embedded in the plastic now! I have big hands, so I tried not to make the resin layer too thick so the ring would still fit. I can slide the ring on and off now without worrying that the picture will peel away! I still wouldn't do dishes with the ring on, but for $2 I have a pretty impressive bauble.

Ooo, Carmi, I forgot to say I'll be anxious to hear how the resin works, because I was wondering the same thing. :-) Candie
Hmmm, Carmi, I left another comment before the last one saying how FABULOUS these are!!! Perfect image too! BUT, where'd it go?!?!? I need coffee. Hope you're having a good day!
oh sweetness!
My experience is the resin (I assume tis some kind of epoxy resin not diamond glaze type product)will make it more water resistant but not necesarily waterproof. This is because of the various chemical makeups of epoxies and plastics and how they bond when combined, yada yada yada.. I wouldn't recommend doing dishes or showering with it on. It will be more than ok for everyday wear and tear though.
What a neat idea Carmi! Your dogs look fabulous on you!
